Touchscreen 3D Desktop

A 3d desktop with touchscreen and XGL on a Linux computer. This is similar to the previous 3d desktop we posted but this one seems more practical.

Note: The guy on the video whistles for the whole two minutes. I recommend either sticking a pencil in each of your ears or turning off your speakers.

[...] I’m not sure how useful it is to have a 3D desktop but it sure is a innovative idea. I thought the whole point of folders on your desktop was a way to make everything more organized, but these 3D desktop people think otherwise. Instead of having folders like Mac’s and PC’s do now they are introducing the idea of having it like an actual desk and having everything piled on each other. That’s pretty cool. I like how with one touch he can flip the screen over to a new area. The whistling is annoying though.

Thats just a Gnome desktop, with XGL installed and a touchscreen…it’s not that revolutionary…just an application of what you can do with simple current technologies…in my opinion this is a proof that Linux is not so crappy afterall:)
