Using Light To Remove Hair

Researchers at Phillips Labs invent a device that uses near infrared light to burn hair. This device uses a halogen lamp to send pulses for 15 milliseconds down the hair follicles. Its filtered so only 600-950 nanometers wavelengths reach the follicles which spread 15 joules of energy on a square centimeter. This bad boy not only gets rid of hair for longer than your average razor but it also reduces hair growth by up to 90%. The process sounds pretty painful, I guess we have to wait and see.
